Damp Proof Membrane

Using a damp proof membrane is vital part of the prep if the sub-floor is damp. No flooring installation will survive if it's laid on a damp sub-floor so it's best to check the damp readings carefully before you start laying your new flooring.

Our quality damp proof membrane is very good value and easy to use, and you can always get in touch for any advice or just a quick chat about what's the best approach.

Don't cut corners at the beginning of a job because it's so expensive to put things right later down the road.

Borrow, beg or buy a decent damp proof meter and check the readings before you start if you're in any doubt at all about whether the sub-floor is damp or not. And for any new concrete floors, assume they are damp and always lay a damp proof membrane (dpm).

Having sorted out the sub-floor you'll need to decide what type of flooring finish will be best, and if you click here you can nip back to the home page to see all the options.
